Why does Ekstrom Access and User Services let me buy a replacement for SGA movies, but I have to pay a fee if I lose a book?

The replacement cost for popular DVD’s is minimal compared to books. In addition, the AUS Department processes all replacement copies internally, whereas replacement books in the Ekstrom Library must be processed through collection management, cataloging, shelf prep, and stacks maintenance departments.
